Snapchat has added three new features, letting you personalize your snaps more than ever. One of those is links, which was not allowed at all before. The other features allow for greater personalization of snaps, with both visual and auditory choices.
The updates are being released today for both Android and iOS. They should soon be available to all users, although they haven't reached yours truly yet at the time of this article's writing.
Links can be attached with the Paperclip tool and opened in Snapchat's own browser by swiping the paperclip icon.
There are a variety of voice filters for video snaps, and they can be used on their own for the first time. Before, they were only part of visual filters.
Backdrops join the use of filters to let users create more of the image rather than just capture it. The scissors tool lets you select which part of your image to highlight, and then the backdrop is overlaid between the selected foreground and the rest of your snap — translucently, so the actual image's background is still partly visible.)
These additions come in the wake of controversial SnapMap updates allowing users to see others' locations - which led to concern from many that it could enable stalking.
